    Beryl
Beryl is actually a group of stones, one which encompasses the green emerald and the blue aquamarine. The group further includes morganite, a pink and peach beryl; heliodor, also known as golden beryl; and red beryl, which is a valuable red form of emerald.

Beryl may also be found as a pale green stone, a green aquamarine, or as colorless beryl, dubbed goeshenite, which displays the brilliance of the entire family.

Red beryl and goeshenite are the rarest members of the beryl family, usually quite small and difficult to find in good quality.

Thus, fine specimens are usually priced as such. Morganite’s pink color can be improved by heating the more orange stones. Golden beryl can be produced using irradiation.
